 What are your rates?

My rates are $125 for 60 minutes and $175 for 90 minutes.

If my rates are genuinely cost prohibitive, please reach out to me and I will try to work with you.

 Do you offer relaxation massage?

 The short answer is no

Although my massages can be very relaxing and it is not uncommon for people to fall asleep at times, I do not offer traditional full body relaxation massages like you get in a spa.

 Do you do house calls?

 No

 Do you work on children?

Yes, however, a parent will need to be present in the room for the duration of the session.

 What about COVID 19?

Great question, I appreciate your caution and concern.

Please go here to read about COVID 19 precautions taken at Mosaic Bodyworks.

I've never had an Orthopedic or sports massage before, what should I expect?

If this is your first time in to see me, you will be filling out a standard health history form (found here). Once I understand what your chief complaint is, we will go over what your goals are. I will do a postural and functional assessment which helps me understand what is causing or contributing to your symptoms. Depending on the type of massage needed, you will either be in shorts and a sports bra or in your underwear and draped (covered) with a sheet. Good communication is essential, and if at any point you feel uncomfortable or have questions about any aspect of the massage, please let me know, you're not going to hurt my feelings. Once the hands-on work is finished, we will go over how you can be proactive in your healing and recovery process outside of the massage sessions.

Will I receive a full 60, or 90 minute massage?

How the time for your scheduled massage is used depends on what you are coming in for; once you enter the treatment room, your time starts.

Due to the nature of orthopedic & sports massage, it is necessary for me to get a subjective update from you each time you come in. If you are   coming in for acute or chronic pain, I often need to do an objective assessment as well, such as range of motion testing, postural assessment and   so on. This is an essential part of my treatment process, to give you the best care I can offer you each time you come in.

If there are self care suggestions to go over after the massage, that is also part of your scheduled time. If you are not coming in for acute or chronic pain, but rather a recovery or maintenance massage, then there is no need to do an evaluation at the start of the session.

If I am late for my massage, do I still get the full scheduled time?

 No.

If you have a 10am appointment and show up at 10:10, you will have the remaining 50 minutes with me. If I was to give you the full 60 minutes   after you arrive late, it would make me late for all my clients after you.

 What is your cancelation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so within a minimum of 24 hours to avoid a $60.00 late cancelation fee. If you don't show up for your   appointment or cancel on the same day of your appointment, you will be responsible for the full appointment fee.

 Will the massage be painful?

The old saying, "no pain no gain", does not apply to how I work. It is dependent on the health of your soft tissue, the specific technique being utilized,   the depth of pressure and the pace of the massage. Good communication is important, if at any point you feel I am going too deep and causing you too much discomfort or pain, that you tell me. If you don't clearly verbally communicate with me, I can't make the necessary adjustments to help you feel better.

How can I expect to feel after the massage?

There are a lot of factors that determine how you feel following your massage. Because of the changes that can take place in the soft tissue, as well   as changes in postural alignment during a single session, it is not uncommon to feel a little tipsy after the massage. Some people also feel no   changes for 24-48 hours and then once the massage has settled in, you feel better. In general, it is best to not be too active after the massage,   drink plenty of water and get 8 hours of sleep.

Are the benefits of Orthopedic & Sports massage temporary or long-term?

It is always my goal to achieve efficient, long-term benefits and for you to not be dependent on me to be pain-free. If massage is the correct course   of treatment for you, and you are diligent about being proactive in your healing process, there is a very high probability that you will have long-term   benefits. It is important to understand that if we want things to be different in our daily life, we must be willing to do things differently. If you get pain relief from working with me, yet make no changes to your daily habits that may be contributing or causing your pain, then your pain will always come back.

"As the son of an orthopedic surgeon, I've always been a bit skeptical about non-surgical solutions. But from the moment I stepped into Bob's office, I knew I was dealing with someone with great knowledge and experience. After expertly assessing my alignment and other areas of weakness, he spent extra time educating me on the underlying physiology. Most importantly, his massage and manipulations appeared to go straight to the problem areas, and I felt immediate relief."
